In order to be admitted to Stiftsschule Engelberg, students are expected to demonstrate motivation and a readiness to excel – along with the desire and ability to become a part the boarding community. The main language of instruction and everyday life is German, thus making a sufficient knowledge of German a fundamental requirement.
Educational duties can only be met if the parents and guardians of students support the goals of the Stiftsschule and are prepared to work together with us.
After initial contact with the Secretariat (firstname.lastname@example.org), an admission interview will take place with the school management. Potential students can then “try out” the school by spending several days with us – with no obligation to commit to enrollment.
After completing the application documents, an education contract will be sent to you to sign and return. Once the one-time registration fee of CHF 500 as well as a deposit of CHF 5,000 have been received, the application becomes final. The education contract may be terminated as of the end of a semester (i.e. as of the end of January or July) respecting a notice period of four months. If a student does not progress to the next school year, the contract may be terminated within 10 days of receiving his or her grade report.
